
Creating two separate offerings in the one venue, that not only held their own feel, but also complimented each other at the same time. Existing heritage structures always bring unexpected issues, and so we were keen to use those exposed qualities rather than fight the character of the building.ģ. The elongated yet narrow space requires careful consideration to a variety of seating opportunities, to avoid having a long corridor of seating.Ģ. We faced three prominent design challenges in this particular project:ġ. With a lot of ‘trendy’ retail spaces already in the area, our client saw the need for an authentic offering which would appeal to the local community. The project required an authentic offering that was unique to its surrounding Windsor landscape. The atmosphere was to be unique, casual and fun and to generate a sense of familiarity where customers could enjoy tapas style dining, in a vibrantly cultured space.


Compared to the upstairs, accessed by a separate stairway, that opens into a more refined and sophisticated cocktail bar.īoth spaces unite to create a food and wine venue influenced by Mediterranean cuisine. The ground floor was to be a more interactive, communal atmosphere, with bar dining and intimate seating areas that are bathed in a light filled “conservatory”. The brief was to create two separate, complimentary spaces that reflected a subtle difference in the offering.

Whereas the upstairs needed to be slightly more sophisticated, with a saloon style cocktail bar and private whiskey lockers. The Ground Floor needed to incorporate a more relaxed atmosphere, with casual dining to the rear and an extensive bar and wine shop towards the street. The project required the design of a two-level (140seat) restaurant and bar for locals to experience a taste of the Mediterranean.
